Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning

My boys love ramen, but after going gluten-free as a family, we needed a Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning option. This seasoning has all the flavor of a ramen seasoning packet, but in a whole-food and gluten-free way!

I came up with this as I have teen boys who love ramen, but we are a gluten-free household. They find it a spot-on replacement for the ramen seasoning packets that come in a package of ramen.

My friend had a daughter go gluten-free. She mentioned the one thing her girl missed the most was RAMEN. I knew it was time to give this easy Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning recipe a place on the blog for everyone else who needs it.

Why We Love This Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning

  1. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. Perfect for the sensitivities in your family! This is a great swap to keep ramen as an easy snack or meal option.
  2. Plus, it’s ridiculously simple to make! Only 6 ingredients + 5 minutes and you have homemade ramen seasoning at your fingertips. How easy is that? It’s one my teenage boys make all the time on their own.
  3. And, this seasoning is very budget-friendly. There are a variety of gluten-free ramen seasonings you can buy on Amazon, if you need convenience. BUT, this one takes only 5 minutes to make and only costs $0.93 per batch – less than a $1 per batch!
  4. All the ramen flavor without the fuss. Quick to make, budget-friendly, simple ingredients (no added sugar or preservatives), shelf stable. What’s not to love?!

Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning - EASY, budget-friendly, dairy-free, vegan, nut-free. 5-minutes to make!

Ingredients

  • Nutritional yeast – Nutritional Yeast is not the same as baker’s yeast. Though it’s derived from baker’s yeast, it’s been deactivated and cannot make things rise. Instead, it’s a commonly used for a cheesy dairy-free flavor. I get mine at Trader Joe’s (best flavor and cheapest), but you can also find it at Walmart.
  • Salt – Regular table salt
  • Garlic powder – Granulated garlic or garlic powder. I buy my spices in bulk at Winco or Sam’s club.
  • Onion powder
  • Dried basil
  • Dried oregano
  • Ground black pepper

How to Make Gluten-free Ramen Seasoning

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, stirring to combine. Store in a sealed container (we use a small mason jar, pictured) in the pantry for up to 3 months.
  • To make gluten-free ramen, we use Lotus Foods gluten-free ramen noodles. We get them at Costco, but you can also find them on Amazon. INSTRUCTIONS: Place 1 ramen brick in a glass bowl. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon ramen seasoning and then cover with 1 cup chicken broth (we prefer chicken broth, but you can use beef or vegetable) or bone broth. Microwave in 1 minute intervals, flipping the ramen noodles every minute, until desired softness, about 4-5 minutes. Wait a few minutes for it to cool before eating.
